Samples of Vielle were made available to sexual therapists so that they could assess the product and gain experience of its use in the management of female orgasmic dysfunction. 354 therapists requested samples. A brief questionnaire was posted to those therapists who had requested samples about 3 months after the samples were despatched.

Of the 84 returned questionnaires, 78 were from therapists who had gained experience of Vielle. Of these, 76.9% and 70.5% reported that Vielle enhances clitoral stimulation and facilitated orgasm attainment respectively (Figure 1).

One in five (20.5%) of respondents considered Vielle to make orgasm more intense whilst 24.4% reported it to make orgasm more satisfying. Most (93.6%) therapists reported Vielle to be easy to use.

The majority of therapists (67) reported on the use of Vielle in women being treated for orgasmic dysfunction. Of these therapists, 43 (64.2%) considered Vielle to be useful in the management of this problem.

The majority of therapists considered Vielle to be equally acceptable (Figure 2) and equally useful (Figure 3) as vibrators in the management of orgasmic dysfunction but less obtrusive (Figure 4).
